Alastair Taylor created this image for the Darlington Sport & Rec Assoc. (WA) Inc. and donates all proceeds to the Darlington Community Pavilion project. A two-stage project, the Pavilion was built over 3 years and officially opened in 2020. Fundraising continues to repay a community loan and other community activities

Local artist Alastair Taylor studied illustration at Bath Academy of Art 1979-1983 and worked as a freelance illustrator until moving to Australia in 2006.

He has participated in many group, national and international exhibitions and held several solo shows.

His works are in public and private collections including the City of Joondalup and Shire of Mundaring and he is the recipient of numerous awards and prizes including the inaugural Robert Juniper prize for Landscape Painting in 2016 and the painting category in the 2017 and 2021 Darlington Arts Festivals.

 

2017 - Mundaring Art Gallery. Alastair created a three-dimensional matrix of portraits titled ‘One Hundred and Three of Me’ which explored individual identity within the vastness of the online community.

2018 - Best-in-Show at Ellenbrook, Sculpture Prize in Kalgoorlie and Runner Up in the Collie Art Prize.

2019 - ‘0.76 per cent’ - 55 portraits of local Collie residents.

 

Alastair regularly exhibits at Juniper Galleries in Darlington and Mundaring Arts Centre shop.
